What Revs You Up?

What do you love?

What gets you going?
A substance of choice —
Jump starts your heart. 💜

In the beginning,
When all is muffled,
Haze unrolling,
Under water.

Let’s go, you think.
Without a blink,
You inhale
That aiding relief,
That elixir of strength.

Well — joke’s on you
Fountains of substance
Already exist
Deep in the folds
Of crumpled brain tissue. 🧠

Which are beaten and stretched,
Almost like putty —
Need more time.
Need more something.
Need more.

Always more.

Days unfold,
Hazes come and go
With the wind and storms.

Cool breezes emerge

In the blazing haze.
Relief is approaching.
Seasons change,
Dreams flourish,
Dreams pass.

Blossoming as rain subsides,
Take your chance —
Forgo the stimulation,
The something
The placebo.

Remember to dig
Into your foundation.
In depths below,
Inspiration flows,
Bountifully independent.

Habits plague
The life forces.
Too much indulgence.
Too much regret.
Resources are scarce.

Reach within.

What really gets you going? What’s your something?
