Dable appoints new CTO and CDO to accelerate technological innovation

Dable, the leading global content discovery platform, recently announced the joining of Jeongho Jang and Yongho Ha in the executive team as Chief Technology Officer and Chief Data Officer to improve services and heighten its technological competitiveness. Goonoo Kim, the Chief Product Officer (a former adjunct CTO) will now focus on improving Dable products and establishing a product roadmap. Dable’s new technology team will bring in energy to propel Dable into its next phase of growth.

Jeongho has more than two decades of experience in designing and developing mass user-based services in top technology companies such as Neowiz, 1noon(acquired by Naver), Naver, and LINE. He developed a web document collection system and designed a large-scale system that collects and processes billions of web documents for Naver to enter the Japanese search engine market from 2006. In 2011, he joined LINE as a founding member. Jeongho, who had participated in designing and developing the core functions of the LINE Messenger app from its infancy, led the development of the content sales platform, including the sticker shop that drove its success and enhanced the competitiveness of the service.

With deep technical experiences, Jeongho aspires to further solidify Dable’s commitment to creating world-leading solutions for discovery platforms. He will improve the system and the process of Dable’s platform to stably provide services to global markets. Additionally he hopes to secure talents with top-notch development capabilities contributing to a desirable organizational culture for engineers.

Yongho is the leading data scientist in South Korea. He started his career as a software engineer at Tmax and KTH, and became a data scientist at SK Telecom in 2012. In 2015, he founded the startup Numberworks, developed a machine-learning based marketing automation solution, and joined Kakao after selling it to them in 2016. At Kakao, he led the data value team and designed the ad rank algorithm as well as the message advertising distribution algorithm. Moreover, in 2019, he established XYZ Venture Partners, a venture capital that bridges data technology and business. Yongho has taken the lead in initiating the data industry by participating in various speaking opportunities including ‘Sebasi Talk.’

Dable appointed Yongho Ha by creating a new CDO position. Yongho aims to improve the machine learning infrastructure and replace learning models for reinforcing Dable’s AI capabilities. Through such an effort, the quality of Dable’s ad recommendation and article recommendation features expect to be improved greatly. In addition, he will provide more valuable services to media, users, and advertisers through utilizing the expansive amount of data that Dable collects.

The company collects and analyzes media behavior logs from approximately 540 million users per month and recommends content to about 5 billion websites. More than 100 million page views are generated through Dable’s content recommendation platform each month.

Dable has been recognized for its world-class technology through awards such as the K-Global DB-Stars Grand Prize in 2015, the Korea Online Advertising Grand Prize in 2016, the TIPS Award Grand Convention in 2017, the B2G Ministry of Science and ICT Grand Prize in 2019, and the Ministerial Citation of Ministry of Science and ICT for ‘Data’ in 2020.
