You have entered and now there is no turning back!

Welcome to, ‘ Inside the Mind of: Dahlia.’ In this video, I am completely myself, no script and all improv on what it means to be in the industry, the idea of beauty and of course a showcase of my characters.

Q: Let’s start with, what is acting?

Acting is believing you are that character on screen and that character has lived a life you haven’t. As an actor it is our job is to become that person to be able to retell the story of that character. Transforming who we are into someone or something else in order to tell that story.

Much like the art of cooking, acting can be seen as the same thing in an abstract sense. You are given this recipe and with your own interpretations, the people will either completely enjoy your meal or absolutely hate it.

Q: What is the hard part about acting?

When walking into the audition room, especially with not much time with the script the uncertainty builds when you anticipate and overthink on what the director or casting director is looking for.

Q: Who is my favorite actor?

Hands down, Gary Oldman.
