Red cardinal rests
Upon the tree branch lightly
A friend returns here
I have heard it said many times that when you see a cardinal, the spirit of a loved one is nearby and watching over you. Recently, this fellow was flitting between the oak trees in our back yard. It sat still just long enough for this shot.
Today, I will take a moment to remember family and friends who have passed, and be glad that one of them was watching over me and my family.
