#12. I’m loving Unsplash
Today’s article will be different from my usual DailyCupofJo articles. Today, I would like to highlight one of my favorite websites: Unsplash.
What Unsplash is
Unsplash is a free photo sharing service developed and run by a company called Crew. It allows anyone to use high quality photos from their website, even commercially, without paying or giving the author credit. Anyone who wants to submit photos to Unsplash has to release their photos under the CCO license. Basically, Unsplash is a community of photographers that produce high quality photos for the masses to use.
How I use Unsplash
I largely use Unsplash for the photos in my articles. Usually, I can find meaning in a photo that corresponds with the topic that I am writing on. For DailyCupofJo I have used Unsplash for the majority of my article pictures. I’ve used a picture from Unsplash in 10 of the 12 articles(including this one). Unsplash is the only place that I have found that allows me to download high quality photos that convey a meaning without paying a price premium.
Photo Quality
At least from my experience the photo quality is unmatched. The sheer number and quality of photos is truly amazing. As they say, pictures are worth a thousand words. To convey the photo quality are the photos themselves
