Have you ever seriously pondered quitting? Have you ever felt so beat down by the work, or the pressure, or just life in general? Has it ever felt like too much? Has it ever seemed like a good idea to stop work, or that nobody cares what you’re doing. If you have, because if you haven’t, what you’re doing isn’t really important.

Quitting is part of human nature just as perseverance is. Stress is also a part of human nature. Everyone has their breaking point. If you have never reached yours, what you’re doing isn’t really a challenge. And if it’s not a challenge, is it really even worth it?

Do you think any accomplishment that meant something to the world was easy? Even accidental success needed perseverance to change lives.

If you haven’t considered quitting, your resolve has never been truly tested. Being pushed to the edge is the only way you will develop grit. When you consider quitting, and make a decision to keep going, your commitment grows stronger. How are you going to keep going when times get hard, if you don’t know how far you’ll go to accomplish your goals.

If you haven’t considered just giving up, and then decided to keep pushing, you haven’t gone far enough yet. Keep pushing yourself, keep learning and growing. It will get hard, you will get discouraged. But, perseverance through the toughest times develops the strength that will bring you to the mountaintop.
