#32. Committing more time to fiction?
My writing has slowed over the past few weeks. As my amount of schoolwork ramps up, I feel that I do not have time for many things. Unfortunately, writing falls under that category. Sometimes it’s a struggle to even push out a DailyCupofJo article every day.
I knew that this school year was going to be hard. I knew it was going to be tons of work. Now, I have to man up and just get it done. There are no excuses.
I worked throughout the entire summer for this. I worked so I could be prepared. There is no giving up now. I can’t just stop right now. I’m too close to accomplishing my goals. That’s why I’m not going to tone it down. I’m not going to limit myself and prioritize with only a few things. That’s one of the reasons I’ve decided to commit more time to fiction writing.
I started off as a fiction writer. Even thinking about writing fiction takes me back to the time that I had just began writing as a hobby. I created this short story out of the blew. There was no planning, no brainstorms, no revising, no anything. I just started writing.
Now, I’m better. My journey on Medium and on other sites has made me a better writer. On top of that, I have several stories that I’ve thought of, brainstormed and ready to go.
I think the time to restart my fiction writing career is now. Many writers on Medium are writing books of their own, and if they can do it, I can do it. I’m ready to take the plunge. The only thing that stands in between me and my goals is me. I won’t let myself impede my own progress. I won’t back down and I will accomplish my goals. I won’t wait around any longer. My time is now.
