I went through the day marking my actions and rating them by their productivity on a scale of 1–5. My average score was 3.2.

I got a lot done yesterday, but I could’ve done much more. I procrastinated a couple times during the day, but I would eventually get back to my work. I started off strong and ended strongly, but I procrastinated a couple times in the middle.

The most important thing I learned yesterday was that we can recover from procrastination. While I was eating, I decided I would watch the movie Moana. I still had work to do at the time, but I liked the movie so I watched it all the way through. After watching that movie, however, I go back to work, as I had already lost more than an hour watching it.

Don’t let procrastination take over your day. It’s inevitable that we will procrastinate, but we have to recover. If you can garner enough attention and energy into your task, you should be able to finish it quickly and skillfully.

I was productive yesterday. I wasn’t at the level that I would like to be at, but I got things done. That level of productivity is sustainable for me in the future. Consistency and sustainability are important hallmarks of success.
