#373. My last breath of sweet freedom

My summer has truly been amazing. It started with a trip to Las Vegas starting literally the day I was finished with school. It’s ending with me, writing this article, as a last hoorah to the summer that I’ve loved.

Along the way I:

  • Turned 16 years old
  • Spent time with extended family
  • Applied to my first real job(didn’t get an interview)
  • Hung out with friends
  • Took a trip to Arizona
  • Listened to some great music
  • Finished my 365th straight article
  • Worked (a lot)

This summer was much different than any of the other summers I’ve ever had. First of all, I worked more than I ever had. I wrote every day, designed almost every day, and worked on some opportunities than can grow my brand as a whole.

The best thing about my summer, however, was the unique and meaningful experiences I had. Spending time with my aunts, uncles, and grandparents was great. It helped me see things from a different perspective. The trip I took to Arizona, which was only one day, was a great experience. It was just me and my two brothers, but it was fun and peaceful.

I’ll miss the freedom of the summer.

I’ll miss being able to wake up at noon on one day and 6am the next day.

I’ll miss being able to explore the work and opportunities I want without my classwork lingering in the back of my mind.

I’ll miss having all day to work on an article or a design, or literally whatever I feel like.

I’ll miss my brother and my sister, who are both moving when their college school year starts.

I’m trying to be ready for the school year to start. I’m trying to come to terms with the fact that 2017 is more than halfway over. I’m trying to plan a school year to rival every year I’ve ever had before.

I’m not ready, but I’m ready. I know that’s confusing since they’re complete opposites of each other and I’m saying that I’m both. But, that’s just how I feel right now. I’m not excited for the school year, but I’m definitely not dreading it.

I’m worried. I’m excited. I’m free. That is, until tomorrow.
