Only a few human tetrachromats have been identified, and the ability seems to be more pronounced in those who have been exposed to many colors from a young age. It’s estimated that between 2% and 12% of women are tetrachromats. One known tetrachromat, Concetta Antico, has integrated her tetrachromacy and her career — she’s an artist and oil-painting instructor.
