Favorite Book

A child is transported into the universe of their favorite book as their own character.

May was a fan of horror literature. She loved books that made her jump or hide under her sheets. She loved reading with the knowledge that once she put the book down those horrific creatures would be left behind.

She understood what was wrong with the settlement when one night she closed her book and something in the darkness was smiling at her.

And May screamed.
