Bhagavad Gita: Chapter 2, Verses 67–11/Dec/2019
Chapter 2 — Verse 67
indriyaanaam hi charataam yanmanonuvidheeyate
tadasya harati pragnaam vaayurnaavamivaambhasi
Summary
Why cannot there be knowledge for the unsteady mind? This verse tries to explain that.
The mind which yields to the roving (chanchala) senses carries away his knowledge, as the wind moves or carries away a ship on water.
Just like how wind can carry away a ship away from its intended course, so can an unsteady mind get carried away and lead the person away from his or her true destination which is to realise the Self. An unsteady mind is just after the pursuit of objects and due to this can get carried away from realising the Self.
