Bhagavad Gita: Chapter 2, Verses 68–12/Dec/2019
Chapter 2 — Verse 68
tasmaadyasya mahaabaaho nigruheetaani sarvashaha
indriyaaneendriyaarthemyastasya pragnaa prathishtithaa
Summary
O might armed (another name for Arjuna), person who knowledge is steady that person’s whose senses are entirely restrained from sense-objects.
It is known that evil arises from the senses pursuing sense-objects. Meaning, when a person hankers after wealth or accumulation of objects like 1,2,3 or more houses, cars, gadgets with a never ending quest of riches. But, a person whose knowledge is steady and his senses are in control meaning, one who is not pursuing sense-objects, that person can realise the Self.
A person who has realises the knowledge about the Self, his experience of all matters, temporal and spiritual (laukika and vaidika) is experienced very differently from a person who does not possess such a knowledge.
