Coinme Launches more than 300 Bitcoin ATMs in Florida
More than 300 Bitcoin-enabled Coinstar kiosks have been launched in the US state of Florida by a digital gateway firm named Coinme. The company said:
“For Floridians, the expansion makes buying Bitcoin with cash as simple as visiting their local grocery store,”
Coinme is a US-based company that helps in cryptocurrency-to-cash exchange and has come up as a preferred gateway to digital currencies.
These Bitcoin ATMs have been launched after the introduction of favorable policies for Bitcoin in Miami in particular and Florida in general. Coinme’s CEO Neil Bergquist has said that their company is expanding into new areas so that they can meet the “ever-growing demand” of buying cryptos and bitcoins from accessible venues.
He went on to say:
“Our team has been working with state regulators in an effort to launch Coinme on Coinstar kiosks throughout the state, and we are thrilled to secure a license to offer a cash onramp to purchasing Bitcoin to the residents of Florida.”
The company was founded back in 2014 and is currently operating around 6,000 Bitcoin ATMs from where customers can buy BTCs in exchange of cash. Coinme is offering its services in association with an American coin-cashing machine giant called Coinstar, operating coin-cashing machines in around 20,000 locations across 4 countries.
A recent survey sponsored by Coinstar found that 23% of Bitcoin buyers do so through Bitcoin ATMs and kiosks. The survey also found that 1 in 5 respondents preferred buying Bitcoins and other cryptocurrencies with cash. In fact, more than 50% of the respondents said that they purchased BTC as an investment.
Coinstar CEO Jim Gaherity has said that many first-time investors are looking for a straightforward and secure solution for accessing purchase of assets through cash. In fact, that’s why a significant percentage of people are buying Bitcoin through Bitcoin ATMs and kiosks in exchange of cash.
The BTC investors, buying Bitcoin through Coinme powered Coinstar BATMs, can do so by using the Coinme Wallet. Therefore, they don’t have to input separate wallet information at the time of buying through these Bitcoin kiosks. Coinme currently operates BATMs in more than 6,000 locations across 44 US States.
All the Bitcoin purchases through Coinme powered BATMs are backed by the robust security standards of Coinstar as well as their commitment to regulatory compliance. The BTC buyers from these kiosks don’t have to fill up long KYC documents. Instead they can do it simply by using a mobile phone number, a state ID card or driver’s license, and cash in US Dollars for purchasing Bitcoins.
The new Coinme Bitcoin ATMs will be available in select Harveys, Fresco y Mas, Winn Dixie, and other grocery outlets across Florida including Tampa, Orlando, Miami, Jacksonville, and many others.
