An Offering to the Solar Eclipse of 2017

Thoughts on what we have to offer instead of what we can get

Could you feel it yesterday? The energy was palpable. I couldn’t put words to it as I stopped for a moment to feel. Is it me? My mind? The pure energy of the Earth pulsating through my being? I consciously breathed and made space for the rare event — an event that probably wouldn’t happen again in my lifetime. An event that would happen whether I wanted it to or not— a grand gesture of the Universe. Nothing could hide it.

“Three things cannot long be hidden: the sun, the moon and the truth.” Buddha

For a day we turned away from the noise and turned into the awe of life. Wait. Read that again …. FOR A DAY …

Why? Why does it take a total solar eclipse for us to stop? Maybe not for all of us, but as a collective we are lost on the grand a-ha, the big picture. It is the underlying ultimate reality behind all that exists.

Sadly we are too caught up in our minds to notice.

Since the media announced the impending event last month, many news outlets published articles about ways to use the eclipse to our advantage — as if this beautiful universe revolves around US.

Eclipses offer new beginnings, provides the perfect opportunity to allow us to start over, set intentions and manifest better ways of being.

Good advice. In an effort to harness the energy, I smudged sage. I waved goodbye to old ways. I welcomed new things in, and …

I vowed to slow down. Tune in. Become one with this world. Because I am already one with her. We all are.

Nature is pure, raw truth. It doesn’t argue. It just is. I want to be like that.

We are microcosms of the macrocosm. We have more power than we realize.

The sun rises and sets every day, yet we rarely think about it until it hides from us — we complain because it isn’t conforming to our expectations.

The moon orbits, shines, show’s her beautiful faces each month. How often do we slow down enough to look?

We can go back to old ways, stay the same, or we can allow yesterday’s event be a reminder — a pointer to the truth. The light, the darkness, the blessings of this lifetime. I choose the latter.

Thanks for reading. Did you enjoy? Please tap the 💚 clappy hands (as many times as you’d like) to recommend it to others. Namaste …
