I’m Done with “Small Talk” Comments But Certain Responses Still Get My Attention
Do you feel the need to reply to every comment someone leaves you?
During this past year, there have been some significant changes that relate to the way we engage with stories on this platform. As a result, many writers like myself, have found it necessary to adjust the way we choose to respond to comments from our readers.
In view of the fear of over engaging with numerous members and wasting time connecting with questionable profiles, I’ve pumped the brakes on the way I once used to engage with my followers.
To put it mildly, I’m pretty much done with small talk, when it comes to the Responses I receive in my Notifications. This is especially the case, when most of the Responses are clearly meant to be a polite compliment or to make a congenial statement about the story.
I admit, some of these type of Responses can still get my attention, but for the most part, I reserve my replies for the comments that actually contain a direct question or require a reply from me, for clarification on some point.
So in case you’re wondering about my recent lack of consistent engagement, at least now you know what’s been behind my apparent silence.
