The 1st Fiction Book I Published was Perfect But it Had Lots of Mistakes!
Should I go back and fix what I did wrong?
If you’ve ever seen any great movie or read any awesome book involving a hero (or more than one — any kind or gender), you probably have some idea of what is meant by a term that’s familiar to serious writers, known as “the hero’s journey”.
I’ve seen this hero journey referred to in other ways, and different expressions used to describe what I first discovered myself just a few short years ago.
So as not to get thrown off and lose my train of thought, the only thing I’ll do right now, is show you a quick definition of what I’m referring to, so you can see how it relates to the main point of this story.
An online search of this term will turn up the following definition:
Hero’s journey:
“…structure that describes the path a hero takes through a series of adventures. It’s a recurring pattern in stories across cultures, from ancient myths to modern films. The journey involves a hero leaving their ordinary world, facing trials and tribulations in the special world, and returning home transformed.”
