Will Medium Flag Me for Suspicious Behavior if I Do THIS Every Day?
I’m afraid of doing anything that might raise a red flag
With all the fraudulent behavior that Medium took sweeping steps to eliminate this year, some of us on the platform are too afraid to even sneeze.
Yes, I said “us” as in ME included.
I know for myself, I’m afraid of doing anything that even remotely might be a reason to raise suspicion, resulting in getting flagged by Medium.
I don’t trust the mechanisms they have in place, that might raise a red flag on an account.
That’s probably because I’m still a little salty about being one of the writers caught up in those “sweeping steps” that I mentioned earlier.
The sweeps were performed like a an unlicensed surgeon using a butcher knife to perform a sloppy surgery.
Worse yet, the unskilled doctor couldn’t even locate the right patient, so the sloppy procedure was performed time and time again, on all the wrong people.
You can click on the “glitch” related title when you get to the end of this story, and read the whole sordid details.
As you will discover, the entire incident, had me so bummed out, that I wasn’t even sure I wanted to continue writing on Medium.
My initial thought was:
“How can I go on under these circumstances, and act as if nothing has changed?” It felt like the wind had been knocked out of me.
Just like so many other innocent and falsely accused writers, I wasn’t thoroughly convinced, when Medium made their apologies to me, and assured me it wouldn’t happen again.
I really wanted to believe them, so I stayed put.
I like to think of myself as a reasonable and fair person. It wasn’t hard for me to understand the pressure the website administrators have been under.
They’ve had a lot of problematic issues to try and clean up this year, which some members blame the Friends of Medium for causing.
- Do I think that Medium could have done a better surgical job, and used a scalpel, with precision and skill? YES.
