We all knew and loved Myspace, and all had the same first friend: Tom Anderson. You probably didn’t know or love him, but there he was, in your Top 8 on Day 1.

Tom co-founded Myspace, creating the first web pages in 2003. Myspace was sold to News Corp (which sounds like a comic book villain company or something) in 2005 for $580 million (about $870 million in today-dollars).

Tom remained president of the company for several years, but it sounds like he didn’t really get along all that well with the parent company.

Currently, he’s pretty much retired and travels the world doing photography, and he’s actually pretty good at it. He’s not super connected on social media these days, but he’s got some nice-looking photos on Instagram and has popped up on Twitter from time to time.

All indications are that he has no intention to return to the tech world. He got is bag and peaced out. Good for him.

Bonus: I looked up the other guy who co-founded Myspace too. He founded a billion-dollar video game development company that he still runs. Ho-hum.
