Favorite time of the day

I don’t have a favorite day of the week

In an agency, when it’s 4 in the evening on a Friday “Hey, a new job came in. We might have to work the Saturday” is the last thing you want to hear.

And because that’s a possibility, Fridays aren’t my favorite.
Nor is any other weekday, because you might have to stay after 6 sometimes.

Nor is the weekend because there’s entrance exam/interview prep scheduled.

Personally, I love putting in hours into something, be it work or prep.
Call it ‘The Dive.’

This stage in my life though requires what is what I now term ‘The Juggle.’
Which means I need to straddle.

It’s a choice I had to make from these three ideas to success I remember being preached around.

  1. There’s “Fail. Fail. Fail till you succeed. And then do it again.” (Commit to something) Eg. Talented actor who’s broken into Cinema because they didn’t settle for anything they saw as less.
  2. There’s “ Respect The Transition. Move closer even bit by bit to your dreams” Eg. Talented actor starting with smaller roles in theater and TV and moving into Cinema to succeed.
  3. There’s that which I currently have to follow — “Don’t put all your eggs in one basket” (Diversify) Eg. Talented actor who also works as a consultant while he does smaller roles in theater.
After CAT this year went south, I had to figure out how to put in another year without getting miserable.

(Above plan thanks to — http://mbakakeeda.com/well-balanced-cat-preparation/ The article has a much larger scope. Applies to anyone living under career uncertainty.)

This straddling is set to continue for a while, which is quite a pain.

Even with all my time taken for a juggle, there’s one slot I have absolutely for myself — my train commute to work and home lasting a total 1 hour.

It’s quality time spent reading quality stuff that’s neatly filtered in my inbox.

To that 1 hour of solace in my daily commute, I’m grateful.
