To Academic Writing
Dear ADG,
The long semester course of Academic Writing takes the gold in all my learning at SNU. Whatever writing challenge at front, I’m ever comfortable getting started because all it takes are two readings, a synthesis of new idea from the readings, and holding the idea on paper with a proper support from quotes.
Hence in all occasions where a new idea is demanded, or two ideas need to be connected, I use your style to produce it with ease.
For instance, on being an engineer-writer, I produce a deeply researched & personalized cover letter for the position of a management trainee, introducing writing & management to draw upon a muscle that makes them both successful, proving how easily I fit better for the job than the typical engineer:
The B.tech. trained the technician in me. And the B.A. English, astonishingly, the manager.
Mr P, the core skillset a manager relies on to lead, is the very same that holds you in reading this written copy.
Empathy.
The thumping grasp by the heart of the desires & fears & ambitions of another. The very quality that close reading & critical analysis of text and characters promptly heightens in one.
Academic Writing is like Karate now professor. That deep in my bones.
Forever its course ambassador,
the boy who began with bullet points,
Ranjit Raj
