Evil Affected
Acts 14:1 (KJV)
And it came to pass in Iconium, that they went both together into the synagogue of the Jews, and so spake, that a great multitude both of the Jews and also of the Greeks believed.
This week an attempt to recall Governor Gavin Newsome of California failed. The man running against him was the well-known conservative, Larry Elder. In the weeks before this recall election, there were numerous “positives” and other sorts of episodes regarding Elder.
I saw where Paul Chappell “led him to the Lord.”
I question the sincerity of his conversion at such a moment in his life. Nevertheless, it makes an impact on Christian voters.
I also saw where he was attacked by a white woman (Elder is black) when she threw food at him hitting him in the head.
This should have riled the news, but they made no issue of it at all. Again, I would have thought this would rally the conservative voters in California.
But then I also heard that the liberals campaigned hard against Elder as a “Trump-like” radical conservative. In essence, they made the minds of the voters “evil affected” against him.
We must be about the business of telling souls about Christ. But, at the same time, we must not allow ourselves to be disheartened when the devil’s ambassadors are also about their business. God’s Word and faith inform us that, in the end, Jesus wins.
