Full of Goodness

Psalms 33:5 (KJV)
He loveth righteousness and judgment: the earth is full of the goodness of the LORD.

The Psalmist did not say that the earth is full of righteousness and judgment. In his day, as in ours, righteousness is difficult to find, and so good sound judgment is just about nonexistent. Just look at the way the United States is handling the fear of the coronavirus. The proclamations and decisions of almost every leader, especially those who are the least godly, is irrational and random. I would go so far as to say evil. In a moment’s notice, Americans became slaves. First to their fears, and then to those who promised to make us safe. No one is safe who is not free.

All of that being true, yet is this the more true, “the earth is full of the goodness of the Lord.”

• The ever-sustaining world, provided by the breath of God
• The wisdom and counsel of God in His Word
• The watch care of God from heaven
• The eye of the Lord upon His children
• The mercy of the Lord upon men
• The salvation of the Lord through Christ
• The help of the Lord in times of danger
• The name of the Lord as we call out to Him

Surely the earth is full of the goodness of the Lord.
