The Lord Will Perfect
Psalms 138:7–8 (KJV)
Though I walk in the midst of trouble, thou wilt revive me: thou shalt stretch forth thine hand against the wrath of mine enemies, and thy right hand shall save me.
The LORD will perfect that which concerneth me: thy mercy, O LORD, endureth for ever: forsake not the works of thine own hands.
The Lord will perfect….
That means He will make changes. He will put us through things that make us different and that remove from us our imperfections.
Three promises the Psalmist clings to:
Thou wilt revive me
Breathe new life into me. Feed my soul and spirit so that I am strong enough to keep on.
Thou shalt stretch forth thine hand
“Against the wrath of mine enemies”. This is interesting. God’s hand will be against their wrath but not against them. God is for every soul. He loves everyone and wills that they repent and be saved. He acts against that which is wicked and contrary to His righteousness.
Thy right hand shall save me
Salvation is rescue first from death and hell. It is also rescue from the destruction this world may do to the child of God.
Through all of this God perfects that which concerns us.
