City of Dallas COVID-19 vaccinations to resume Thursday at The Potter’s House

DALLAS — The City’s COVID-19 vaccinations efforts will resume Thursday at The Potter’s House, Mayor Eric Johnson announced Wednesday.

The City this week will give out 5,000 first doses of the Moderna vaccine on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. American Medical Response (AMR), a contracted vendor, will continue to administer the doses at the southern Dallas church’s overflow parking lot.

Second-dose distributions will resume at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center next week.

The doses will continue to be distributed on an invitation-only, appointment-only basis. Only people who are registered on Dallas County’s wait list will be invited, and people are asked to not show up at either site unless they have a direct invitation. To register for the wait list, visit DallasCountyCovid.org or call 1–855-IMMUNE9 (855–466–8639) between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m., seven days a week.

The state has made anyone age 50 and older eligible to receive a COVID-19 vaccine beginning this week.

The City of Dallas and its partner, Methodist Health System, have distributed more than 36,000 vaccine doses so far. Vaccination operations also continue at the FEMA and Dallas County hubs at Fair Park.

“While we need more vaccine supply, the collective vaccination efforts of governments and private providers are helping us to slow down this pandemic,” Mayor Johnson said. “But it remains critical that we stay on guard against this deadly mutating virus that has claimed the lives of more than 45,000 Texans. As we strive to reach herd immunity, I ask our residents to continue to wear masks, practice social distancing, and take proper precautions. We have come too far to backslide now.”
