I am fortunate enough to be hosting the conversation this week, and as we transition into the new academic year, our theme is “back to school.”

We will dive into the intersection of education, internships, and the evolving skills, knowledge, and mindsets that are critical for those entering today’s digital media workforce.

As a journalism educator, based at the University of Oregon, these issues are always top of mind for me. And I am hoping to use some of the insights from this community chat to help inform a new course I’m designing for 2025 on the Business of Media.

In this rapidly changing industry, staying ahead means understanding not just where we are but where we are headed and the implications of that for your career and the work that you do.

I will say more about that in the coming weeks, but in the meantime, do sign up and follow — as well as contribute — to the conversation! See you on Subtext! Looking forward to engaging with you all!
