At the end of last year, I published a new report on local journalism in the Pacific Northwest, which explores how newsrooms are adapting to address the continued change in the journalism industry.

Their experiences, and the solutions they are deploying, are not unique to the Pacific Northwest. Supported by the Agora Journalism Center, our hope is that news organizations in the United States and beyond will benefit from these insights.

Over the next week and a half, I’ll be breaking down the report, and publishing it on a chapter-by-chapter basis, starting here with the Executive Summary written by Jaycie Schenone and me. (This was also previewed by Nieman Lab, prior to the publication of the full report.)

Building a sustainable model of audience supported, public-interest journalism is not easy.
