YouTube’s growth
The number of YouTube channels in MENA has risen 160% in the past three years, according to an article in Arabian Business.
Some YouTube channels in the Middle East attract millions, even billions, of viewers.
- More than 200 channels in the region have over one million subscribers. Over 30,000 channels have more than 10,000 subscribers.
- One popular example, the family vlogging channel mmoshaya, from Saudi Arabia (“we film sketches, challenges and a bunch of other entertaining stuff”) has more than 8 million subscribers and over 4.5 billion video views.
