Act I

In the dark before the dawn

The Battle is God’s for us.

How I marvel! My Soul

Wakes up to sing.

Reality fractures

Breaking

As Joy expands.

Look! Listen Up!

It is Joy!. It is Joy!

Utters the fog.

Act II

Joy is defined by Oxford languages as, “a feeling of great pleasure and happiness.” A synonym is, “delight.”

While I tend to think that joy is reserved for children and parents, the truth is very different. It surprises me. It reaches out and takes my hand sometimes. An old friend

Another synonym for joy is, “triumph.” And, I can relate very much to this concept. Life has taught me to take delight in the little things.

To pause, to be still and to do a mental happy dance at times.

There is an amazing Scripture in the Old Testament. It is Psalm 37:4. To paraphrase, God wants us to find joy in Him. He looks to those who do. He is at hand in those moments of their lives.
