I should have
Kissed you under the Acacia tree
Of the yellow seeds.

I should have,
While there was the sea.

We should have
Grown roots in the sand of that beach,
And decay together.

I should have
Kissed you while the sky oceanic,
And kiss you still, until we fail in the hue.

We should have been planted there.
Sentenced to lose.
Denied to leave.

I should have
Kissed you instead of asking you why
They called it "Acacia."

My deepest gratitude to Dr. Gabriella Korosi and for all of the DEP team, namely; Dr. Preeti Singh and Libby Shively McAvoy 💙
