This is a little bit of a trick question and if you are anything like me every year around New Year’s you decided you are going to go into the new year a new person with everything done and it will set the tone for the New Year.

We know we don’t become entirely new people overnight even if the year changes. So, where does that leave us?

Changes and becoming the best version of ourselves come with time, effort, practice, and patience. We can prepare ourselves for the changes and set ourselves up for success.

I spent New Year’s Day Celebrating with family and Monday the 2nd I had off of work, so I spent the 2nd getting myself organized and prepared to reach my goals.

I refocused on my goals and worked towards them. I went to the grocery store, made a healthy dinner in the crockpot, exercised, tackled the dishes, finished the laundry, had some self-care, and went to bed early.

Was everything perfect? No. I can’t get everything done in one day but I can work hard and give myself a nice head start and that’s just what I did. The head start made going into Tuesday that much easier and I was prepared with the tools I needed to continue toward my goals with no excuses.

While we can’t magically be a new person when the clock strikes midnight we can give ourselves the tools we need to achieve our goals.
