It Rained Today
A Poem
It rained today
Hard and pelting
Assaulting the dry earth
Thunder shouted
Lightening sang sharp notes
Clouds balled in dark fists
But thunder grew hoarse
Lightening tired of the song
Fists of clouds shook hands
And were no more
A thrill of blue
A corner of the sky
Winked
A rainbow
In all glory
Sprang out
Muscled its smile
Into the sky
