No, no, no, no this is not a time travel story. This article is all about the journey of life which is essentially a journey to the future, a journey which we all undertake, and go through it as we progress in life. Future is an uncertain thing and we all go through life, not entirely sure how our life will pan out, how our career will shape up, how our love life will come to be.

I still remember a very famous line from the movie Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani “22 Tak Padhai, 25 pe Naukri, 26 pe Chokri, 30 pe bachche, 60 pe retirement … Aur phir maut ka intezaar … Dhat Aisi Ghisi Piti life Thodi Jeena Chahta hoon”. For all my English readers, it just captures a simple philosophy that one doesn’t like living a pre-defined life, where everything is decided for you, and you just follow along on that path.

Life is hard and no matter how brave, how mentally strong, how rich or how much-loved ones you have, you’ll have bad days, you’ll have days when you will argue “Why am i even living this worthless life”, and you’ll have to find an answer to that if you need to keep living, keep sustaining and that’s an important thing in life. We all face stressful situations, be it at work or in our love life, it can be a difficult step and we need to find out ways to resolve it and deal with it.

To live a life worth living you need to find a purpose, a meaning which makes your life fruitful, which makes you happy, which makes you feel satisfied and content. For some, the meaning of life may be tied to religion or spirituality and may involve finding a connection with a higher power or fulfilling a spiritual purpose. For others, the meaning of life may be about finding happiness and fulfillment through personal relationships, career success, or other pursuits. Some may find meaning in helping others and making a positive impact on the world. Some people may believe that life has no inherent meaning and that it is up to individuals to create their own meaning and purpose. In psychology, there are some theories that suggest that people find meaning in life through a sense of coherence, self-realization, and by making a positive impact on the world. Ultimately, the meaning of life is a complex and personal question that may not have a single answer. It may be influenced by one’s beliefs, values, and experiences, and may change throughout one’s lifetime.

Some principles I recommend following if you want to find a purpose:

  1. Set goals and pursue your passions: Identify what is important to you and set goals for yourself in different areas of your life, such as career, relationships, and personal growth. Pursue your passions and interests, and strive to be the best version of yourself.
  2. Cultivate positive relationships: Building and maintaining positive relationships with family, friends, and loved ones is essential for a fulfilling life. Surround yourself with people who support and inspire you, and be there for them as well.
  3. Take care of your physical and mental health: Taking care of your physical and mental health is crucial for a fulfilling life. Eat well, exercise regularly, get enough sleep, and practice self-care.
  4. Be open to new experiences and opportunities: Life is full of surprises and new opportunities. Be open to new experiences, and don’t be afraid to step out of your comfort zone.
  5. Give back to others: Helping others and making a positive impact on the world is a fulfilling way to live a life. Volunteer, donate to charity, or support causes you believe in.
  6. Learn and grow continuously: Life is an ongoing learning process. Embrace new knowledge, seek out new experiences and perspectives, and be open to change.
  7. Find balance and practice mindfulness: Balance your work and personal life, and take time to relax, unwind and practice mindfulness.
  8. Reflect and appreciate: Take time to reflect on your life and appreciate the good things that happen.

Life is not fair and never will be. So we need to stop thinking about it and get to working, because opportunities will come eventually and if you are ready, you will find success and this brings to another line from the same movie i quoted earlier “Khud Pe Daya Karna Band Karo, Aur Khud se Pyaar Karna Seekho”. It means stop feeling sorry for yourselves and try to love yourself.

Concluding, Life is a gift which should be adored and consider your journey to the future as one worth going through, because journey is important, and it has to gone through to enjoy the success at end. So have fun and continue with your journey to the future.
