My journey through darkness, loneliness, addiction, and purposelessness has led to finding a joy that goes beyond words.

The only things that give me credibility are the hard knocks in life that woke me up. For example, I’m blessed with a long-term marriage of almost 40 years.

I have been a father for over 36 years, and our sons live healthy, content lives in the same town we raised them in. I’m also sober today based on my faith, which empowers me to have a relationship with the God of my humble understanding.

I am qualified to help younger men because that’s one of the codes of conduct for sober living. If you’re lonely, addicted to anything, including pleasuring yourself, and you desperately seek a higher purpose, I encourage you to find hope because there’s a better way to live.

None of this is bragging. I hope to give you hope because I’ve been in the dark, including more than one jail. After all, I was so lost as a younger man. Now, I’m in my early 60s and feel much younger. Trust me when I tell you that life will improve if you give yourself time and effort.

I stumbled into a self-help group in 2005. I was addicted to myself, making lots of money…
