Moro Rock
A giant granite dome in Sequoia National Park
That’s Moro Rock
In Sequoia National Park
In the Eastern Sierra of
Lovely state California!
You climb 350 steps
To reach the top,
Get to see sweeping vistas
Of mountains and woods.
A giant granite monolith,
I have climbed it twice,
Laboriously, persisting
Making my way up.
I see it and imagine
Millions of years back,
A volcano spewed lava
Which froze into rock.
Just like Half Dome of
Yosemite National Park,
Its volcanic remnant
Of this region’s past.
Weathered by rain and heat —
The colossal dome exfoliates
It’s all about nature’s
Creation and erosion.
