And so, it begins. Unlike the battle of the bands, this is something that could have a far-reaching effect on writing and even the meaning of what it means to be a writer of anything.

This is my formal letter of intent to the Editorial Board of Dancing Elephant Press for the AI vs HI Book project.

Let’s say that today you turn 35, 45, or 55 years old. Please tell me what you think the impact of AI will be on writers 5, 10, 15, or 25 years from now. You can’t is the answer you’re looking for; NO ONE can tell us.

What do these have in common?

The automobile, telephone, ballpoint pen, telex, computers, atomic fusion, R-19, television, digital, mobile phones, compression algorithms, the Internet, the dark web, satellite, Hubble, visitation to other planets, baud, bursty, .com, encryption, and AI (they are not in perfect order).

There are literally hundreds of thousands of new discoveries, inventions, and paradigm shifts that have occurred since the time of the Civil War. What preceded all of those technologies listed? Human Intelligence (HI).
