“But he who dares not grasp the thorn Should never crave the rose.” -Anne Bronte

Have you ever thought about why the beautiful rose has thorns on it?

A few days ago, on a chilly evening, my husband and I were going for a short drive to roam around. A few hawkers were selling beautiful roses in the middle of the road, and my husband bought me a dazzling red rose. The gorgeous red rose spread its enchanting fragrance all over the car within a few minutes, and it took us into a different world of dreams.

Suddenly, I came back to reality when the villain, the thorns, stuck into my fingers and caused me pain.

I wonder why the Almighty created such horrible thorns to adorn such a beautiful flower and what is the significance of its thorns.

Well, as our God has created it, there must be a concrete reason behind this, as He does not do anything without a purpose, I whispered.

But what could be that reason?

Studies show that the thorns are to protect flowers by discouraging insects from crawling upwards to eat the leaves and buds. Thorns play a vital role in the well-being of a rose as they protect the flower from predators.

To have beauty in the very delicate rose flower, the plant needs thorns-It has implications for our life.

We, human being, also have to go through painful times that brings out the beauty in us.

Whatever difficulties come in our life, we need those experiences to shape ourselves as better people, as the rose needs its thorns to have its beauty.

In other words, to get something beautiful, we usually face obstacles and challenges; it is the test of life.

Everyone is going through some problems, hurdles, and difficulties in life, of course, in different forms.

No rose without a thorn — A French proverb.

For example, while seeing the Instagram image, we may think that some people’s lives are like a fairy tale; as if there are hardly any problems, sorrows, or sufferings, but it’s wrong.

It is on us how we face and manage those challenges.

As my husband says

“Handle with care, be it a rose or people or any situation.

Best wishes
