Starting Point — A Tool or A Weapon— DEP Photography Column
What do you see, when you look at me?
Economist Gloria Battlehorn was shocked, when Nurse Practitioner Ashely Binns was given the most successful award, again, at their annual high school reunion awards ceremony for her positive, economic, and medical contribution to their former high school and community.
After being dragged back into the past more than thirty years, all of the painful memories returned. Unanswered questions lingered that she planned on getting answers for. Ashely was too busy so she decided to go to the clinic where she worked.
“I am sorry but Dr. Binns only sees children. But she has a half an hour break before the next patient comes in,” her secretary, whose name Tag identifies her as Janice Crooks, informs. “Whom should I tell her you are?”
“Gloria Battlehorn,” she said, waiting for the look when she said her surname. She got it and smiled.
A few minutes later, Gloria sat waiting in Ashely’s office, admiring her diploma from various universities, plus all of her other awards. The door opened, and she didn’t hear. After finishing her inspection, she turned around to face Ashley, who smiled, then said, “Good to see you, but I only see children,” walking towards her desk. She sat down.
