About a month ago I got good news from one of my oncologists and also some advice that made no sense to me.

After tests and X-rays, I was told that the bladder cancer cells that had invaded my lungs and the tumors associated with them had shrunken.

This was great news. It meant that the chemotherapy was working.

As part of my conversation with this oncologist, I asked if she might recommend any nutritional supplements to help build my natural immunity.

Her answer surprised me. She said, “You’re wasting your money buying nutritional supplements for any reason. You can get everything you need nutritionally from a well-balanced diet.”

Now it’s not my job to teach my oncologist about nutrition, but the advice seemed very strange to me. It also flew in the face of all current science. That experience motivated me to write the following letter I sent this morning to the chief of my oncology team.
