Update On Amali Our DEP Adopted Elephant

Many of you might remember that for DEP’s 2nd birthday in October of 2023, we adopted Amali. I receive a regular newsletter from the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust that lets me know how the elephants are doing. I scan and look for Amali’s name in the news. Amali is part of the Umani Springs Reintegration Unit in the Kibwezi Forest.

Today for the first time she was in the news. My heart started to pump faster hoping that everything was good with her.

I was delighted to read the updates and learn that she is doing excellent. She is a protector of humans and her group.
