What’s Cooking?
Dancing Elephants Press Weekly Prompt 32 of 52
Food is such an important part of our lives. We need it to survive — stay healthy, be energetic, and get all the nutrition we need to live healthy.
Food is also something that brings us joy. A meal enjoyed with family and friends, a favorite dish — and for some of us, cooking is therapy.
When we eat mindfully, we invite all the happiness that food can bring by savoring every bite, every morsel, and appreciating what is on our plate.
The photo you see above is dessert, which wrapped up a meal with a close friend of mine. We met online via blogging and connected. We just knew we would be friends for life. She lives in Canada. Little did I even imagine that I would actually meet her in person sooner than I imagined.
We spent a wonderful few days together, traveling, visiting places, and eating delicious meals. This was one of them. And of course, I treasure the conversations. Although we have the internet, we still enjoy sending each other snail mail for the fun of it.
Now I know we all have a favorite dish, a family recipe, or simply a happy memory of sharing a meal with someone we love.
My prompt for you this week is all about food:
Talk about your favorite food — could be comfort food.
- What do you like about it?
- How does it make you feel? Does it hold any memories?
- Do you enjoy cooking it?
- What is the recipe?
- Describe the smell of cooking in your house.
- What is the best meal you have enjoyed? Could be at home, with friends, at a restaurant, or on your own.
- Do you like to cook? If yes, why? If not, why not?
