Whispers of Spring
A spring Haiku
My Ficus Audrey
Takes off like a rocket ship
A fierce heart reborn
Flowers like sunset
O, Connie the Cockatoo
Thriving and healthy
Young bright sidewalk blooms
Nourished by a season’s rain
Peek through thawing earth
Promise of new life
Sweet scent of fresh beginnings
Unfurl like blossoms
Give branches outside
Still bare from last winter’s frost
Clothing to keep warm
Blades of grass quiver
With each gentle brush of wind
Smooth as ocean waves
Light rain like pin drops
We danced behind closed curtains
Until crack of dawn
Cover me with sun
Messenger who delivered
The whispers of spring
