I don’t know why it’s important, but it is suddenly —
this search for ‘wild arugula’ at the edge of my mother’s lawn —
in front of the house where so much and so little happened.
Avoid the ticks and maybe a snake.

It isn’t arugula, but field sorrel.
Slightly toxic.
