A Sign Was Needed to Cut Down on the Complaints
I had to post on the wall ‘The Complaint Desk is Closed Today’ and it worked!
For me, teaching group dance classes, whether at my studio, someone else’s, or at a party, was preferable to private lessons. However, I found the more people in attendance, the more complaints I would receive.
In my new studio, to avoid constant suggestions, distractions, requests, and complaints, I hung a sign over the reception area stating that the complaint desk was closed. Of course, there really wasn’t such a desk or room, but they got the point.
It’s not as if I didn’t want to please them, but what pleases one person does not please another.
The first most common issue was the temperature. While someone was comfortable, someone else was too warm, and someone else was too cold.
The second biggest problem for most was the Sound System. If one thought the music was too loud, another thought it was too low. If someone liked a song — someone else couldn’t dance to it!
And so it went — constantly!
