Baseball is back

This Thursday marks the start of yet another MLB season. Coming off a year with a story line unlike any other where the city of Houston went from tragedy to the top of the sports world with a team almost everyone could get behind. For me the season ended how most have gone in the past having another team playing meaningless baseball into September and definitely not playing in October.

But, for some reason this year it feels different, I think the Mets actually have a chance. This is going to be the first time that the pitching staff that was made for the future is finally going to be all playing together and have all shown at one time or another signs of greatness. They have acquired some talent that may be past their prime but I see them as additions that can help for just a year or so and make this team competitive. I think the NL east will be a two team race and if the Mets are able to beat the Nationals they could have a chance at the division. The Marlins are going to be hot garbage and the Phillies will only be good if for some freak scenario all of their rookies are all stars.

The Mets could have the pieces to make the playoffs this year, and let me tell you it would be really cool to get a chance to experience October baseball at Citi Field again!
