Normally the Major League Baseball Offseason is full of trades and move, with teams looking to acquire the piece that will put them over the top, and win a World Series. There have been some deals this offseason, as Alex cobb, Lance Lynn, and even Eric Hosmer have signed with new teams. There are still free agents waiting to be signed as well but there is a problem standing in the way.

The free agent class this year was by no means amazing, but there were good pitchers and hitters. Yu Darvish, Lance Lynn, Jake Arrieta were some notable pitchers. Eric Hosmer, J.D Martinez and Lorenzo Cain were all notable hitters looking for a home. The money that some of these players were asking for was downright insane, and it forced the market to become very stagnant and slow. Darvish signed with the Cubs and gave them a very good starting rotation for the future. Hosmer got a rich deal of 8 years and 144 million from San Diego Padres and Carlos Santana got 3 years and $60 million.

Big names who are still available on the market such as John Lackey, Jeremy Hellickson on the pitching front, and hitters such as Jose Bautista, Mark Reynolds and even players like Mike Napoli. This however is a byproduct of the free agent class in 2019. Stacked with players such as Clayton Kershaw, Manny Machado, and even Bryce Harper. It will be interesting to see who makes a run and tried to sign one of these megastars, as people are suggesting Harper will be the first $400 million dollar player.
