Will the NBA ever lose the super-teams?

I’m taking college basketball over the NBA any day of the week. With the new movement of loading up “super-teams”, the NBA has just lost my interest.

I still follow the NBA, but not to the extent of any of the other three sports. However this season seems like it will just be the same thing as the past few seasons. Every year it’s the same top-five teams, and then the rest of the league is just terrible.

The Rockets are very good, but once again I don’t see how they stop the Warriors. They can score, but nobody can score as much as the Warriors.

The Celtics appear to be legit contenders, but I don’t see how there’s any team that can possibly stop the Warriors. They’re good, but they’re young and may not even be able to stop LeBron from getting to yet another final. Now that Kyrie is out indefinitely, it really looks like the Cavaliers and Warriors will be the finals matchup, yet again.

Then there’s LeBron, who everyone can just expect to see in the finals. The repetition in this league has just gotten old to me. Other leagues have teams that are always at the top, like the Patriots, but nothing compares to the NBA.

The NFL has the one consistent team who everyone loves rooting against. But the NBA has about five of those dominant teams, and the rest are basically awful.

It’s the same teams every year. This year looks like it won’t be any different. With Curry, Durant, and Thompson all out right now for the Warriors, it seems like they’re taking they’re rest to gear up for another run.

With LeBron’s free agency coming up this summer, as well as Paul George, I’m intrigued to see if Adam Silver will try and do something in the next couple of years to limit the super-teams. It was interesting when the Celtics worked out the big three of KG, Ray Allen and Paul Pierce. Then when the Heat did it with LeBron, Bosh and Wade, but now it’s gotten old.

There’s only a handful of matchups ever worth watching in the regular season because teams simply can’t compete with the top dogs because of the difference in quality. I’d like to see something done to provide a change in the league.
