Our token DAN is now listed on Lumi, a new secure wallet equipped with “client side private key storage” and offering superior privacy.

Since its launch in February this year, Lumi has been making waves in the cryptoworld as more secure and private alternative to existing solutions, and we quickly spotted an opportunity to get listed on it.

There are multiple advantages to integrating with Lumi:

  1. Thanks to Lumi, we can be listed on a user-friendly crypto wallet, instead of relying on exchanges and MyEtherWallet, which are prone to cyber attacks.

The Lumi team understood that stealing cryptocurrencies like ETH, BTC, and others, has become the ‘modus operandi’ for many scammers and hackers. One of the most famous incidents involving such crime was when hackers stole over $460 Million worth of Bitcoin from the Mt Gox exchange located in Japan. Threats like this are precisely what inspired Lumi to take action and offer a more secure alternative.

2. Lumi takes your security and privacy seriously

Security is extremely important to us — we don’t want scammers and hackers getting in the way of your ability to spend your DANs on Daneel’s services.

Lumi comes packed with advanced features such as ‘client side private key storage’. The wallet is also equipped with:

a) Up-to-Date Security Protocols:

Technically speaking, Lumi serves as a “hierarchical deterministic wallet” which means that it can be recovered through the use of a 12 word mnemonic phrase. This feature is not available on 90% of the other wallets that are available commercially.

b) Anonymity and privacy:

Lumi Wallet apps allows a highly secure and private service as it doesn’t collect any personal information — a significant advantage for users who value their privacy. There is no uptake of trace elements such as ‘data signatures’ which may well leave us vulnerable to third party attackers.

Another underrated security aspect considered in Lumi Wallet apps, is the fact that “private keys” are always left in control of the client, and are never stored on any external server. Additionally, the intrinsic private info never leaves a wallet at any time during or after a transaction.

3. Easy exchanges

Thanks to Lumi, anyone can easily purchase DAN with ETH or BTC — no need to rely on exchanges or MyEtherWallet.

What else should you know about Lumi?

/ Lumi can be used by both iOS and Android users. The mobile app stands out by being more lightweight than other services. Since it does not use a complex API design, the wallet does not impede the over functionality of our smartphones.

Lumi is also available online, but keep in mind that Lumi web version is very different from the mobile one. By creating an account in Lumi web, you create a wallet on the company backend and it is kept there encrypted by your password. Such wallet is available to use from anywhere, knowing your wallet ID and password, so there’s no need to keep your private key with you at all times.

/ Lumi comes with four preset transaction settings, with users being able to choose between a more expensive, Fast option (confirmed within an hour), through a moderately priced Standard, all the way to a Cheap option costing a meagre 20 satoshi (confirmed within a week). In practice, many transactions are confirmed within seconds.

/ Customers can make use of either a conventional PIN system or a Touch/Face ID to access their wallet.

/ Lumi comes packed with small additions such as instant currency convertors, side display panels and analytics data such as market price graphs.

Give Lumi a try and let us know if you like it as much as we do!
