Welcome to part 3 of Community Proxies Explained, where we take a look at community made DangPacks cards. We explore the card art created by the talented artists of The 596, as well as the meaning behind the various references found in their cards.

Dan has a lot of catch phrases which provide plenty of opportunities for talented artists like DJ_Knuckles to turn them into masterful art pieces:

What is Referenced in These Cards?

All three of these cards are in reference to classic catch phrases from Dan which artist DJ_Knuckles turned into fantastic proxy DangPack cards.

The Prop Bet Pleading card is a reference to the phrase that we all know so well and has been immortalized on the soundboard when rising streamer and speedrunner Squeex did his best Dan impression uttering, “Chat, this is the run!”

The Second Warchest card is a reference to what typically happens right after the call for the first warchest (which stands for betting all of your channel points that Dan will succeed the next attempt). If Dan fails this first attempt, he will undoubtedly call for another warchest on the next run, which is obviously impossible if people really did bet all of their channel points on the previous failed warchest. That is why DJ Knuckles included the IOU in “Second Warchest,” because you would be out of channel points at this time.

The Hitless in Seattle card references a popular phrase that Dan utters when he is trying to complete a fight or run without getting hit. He refers to this as being “Hitless in Seattle,” a clear reference to the movie “Sleepless in Seattle.”

The full art version of Prop Bet Pleading shows Dan at a podium with an empty warchest on one side of him and a stream moderator on the other. Seated are a number of characters and references from the show, including One Guy.

What Details and Easter Eggs are Hidden in the Full Art for Prop Bet Pleading?

  • Furey visible on stage with Dan, mod sword in hand.
  • Dan in blue shirt since things are not going well for the Believers.
  • Empty Believer warchest stacked on 596 mugs.
  • GFuel and 596 flags in place of flags typically seen on stage during a press conference.
  • Golden welcome mat visible in the aisles.
  • Characters in the crowd include: TTS Shark (Armin/TJMan), Horse, DangHands crying from betting Red, Tiamat from Spelunky 2, One Guy with his bucket of Doubter Coins and Malenia returning TTours favors to Dan.
The full art version of the Second Warchest card shows a viewer peering into a warchest with one coin and an “IOU” inside of it.

What Details and Easter Eggs are Hidden in the Full Art for Second Warchest?

  • “IOU” and a pittance of coins in the chest.
  • A visible shovel and map, implying that chest was hidden and dug up. This is a fun play on the idea of the warchest being a literal treasure chest.
The full art version of the Hitless in Seattle card features Malenia performing her signature Waterfowl Dance attack. Dan can be seen reading off a list of tactics to employ while fighting her.

What Details and Easter Eggs are Hidden in the Full Art for Hitless in Seattle?

  • Malenia is shown performing Waterfowl Dance. The card quote is in reference to his baiting of chat, the way he calls the atom-looking attack Molecule.
  • In the full art, the perspective is revealed to be Cerso Yeet’s point of view.
  • Dodging instructions on left; Tords -> Danglish for towards, AWWA -> wordplay referencing away and “Appreciate Where We Are”.
  • TGOD (The Good Old Days) on the right.
