What Is in the Card Art?

The Operation Scorched Inbox card features an unnamed community member posting a message in the #dang-packs-general channel in Dan Gheesling’s Discord server. This is the main hub for trade negotiations for DangCards digital trading cards. The image also features airplanes with a image of an envelope on them that say the words ‘trade offer.’

Who Does This Card reference?

This card references the phenomenon that often happens in the #dang-packs-general channel where new members will go to post about getting started trading dang cards. What they do not expect is the large dedicated base of traders who will waste no time replying with offers and get excited at the prospect of another unique library of cards now being available to swap with. This often results in a flurry of trade requests in rapid succession that I refer to as “the DPG Swarm.”

What Other Details Does the Full Art Variant Display?

The full art variant of this card showing the ever looming “heavy hitters” of the trading community who have been known to drop extremely large offers for unique and special cards that they want. While they aren’t the only ones who will do so, the four community members in the card have been known to drop very generous offers that are very hard to compete with. These community members referenced are stoversp, rbard99, xxbewaterxx, and YectorSalmanyeet.

Are There Any Other Easter Eggs on This Card?

Yes! A few other references to the community and stream are on this card. First is the dark grey plane with the black and white flag on it. This is a little easter egg to the user Prussiaz, another prominent member in the trading community. Next, the poster on the wall also contains an image of the Animus Major Dan got when he finished his Spelunky 2 run that went all the way to 7–99. Finally, the clock shows every period of time as Dial, a reference to the common Dan Gheesling phrase “ok Time to Dial.”
